Homecoming: A Meaningful Movement Workshop

All bodies welcome!This one day workshop is designed for attendees to discover new ways to move and create awareness of their body, mind and environment.

The day is broken up into 30 minute sessions that focus on natural/functional movement, breath awareness and themed discussions. Lunch, snacks and tea provided from local farms and ethically sourced wild foods.

Workshop highlights:

-Learn hands on ways to build strength and mobility during our indoor and outdoor movement sessions.

-Learn tools to deal with daily stress and anxiety through breath awareness, grounding body movements and collaborative discussions.

-Discover ways to reconnect with your senses and your sense of self through play and balance work.

-Enjoy “Movement Snacks”, exercises you can do in short bursts through out your day along with actual snacks made with local and wild ingredients!

Workshop Schedule

10am - Introductions over wild tea and grounding warm ups to start the day

10:30 - Movement session focusing on the feet and balance

11:00 - Discussion “Reconnecting with the 5 senses”

11:30 - Movement session focusing on the 5 senses

Noon - Lunch Break

12:30pm - Discussion “Are you a fat happy animal?”

1:00pm - Movement session focusing on play

1:30pm - Discussion “Breath Work”

2:00pm - Movement session focusing on strength and mobility

2:30pm - Snacks, hydration and reflections

Attendees should bring comfortable clothes they can move in and don’t mind if they get a little dirty for the movement sessions and a notebook and pen. We will also be spending sometime barefoot. If an attendee has food allergies or restrictions they are welcome to bring their own food, there is a full kitchen available for storing a preparing food.

This workshop is not wheelchair accessible but can be made so upon request.

Expectations for participants:

-Have respect and kindness towards yourself and everyone else at the retreat.

-Be mindful of the time, fully participate in all the sessions.

-Have minimal screen time, please keep phones on silent and only use them during breaks.

-Give yourself permission to try new things and spend sometime outside your comfort zone. Try new movements, build new connections and/or deepen connections you already have.

Cancellation policy: A full refund is issued with in 48 hours notice of the event on Thursday, April 11th. After that no refund is given.
